Just because an entity uses a homosexual reference to define something as having a negative connotation it doesn't mean they are homophobic it just means that they have a very limited vocabulary and have wrongly used a noun.

Goonswarm and the greater CFC are one of the most caring and accepting groups I have ever been a proud member of. I personally know and have helped and counselled other members of our coalition who are dealing with their sexuality and it's offensive for you to make these completely untrue allegations.

While I don't condone the use of Gay, ******, ***, Poofter, Lezbo or Carpet Muncher as a negative connotation you are trying to link two very separate things. It is unfortunate that most of us grew up learning these things and carrying them onto adulthood.

Let us discuss the origin point of Goonswarm.
Goonswarm players originated from a hellhole called the Something Awful forums, a beautiful place of trolls, dicks, cyber hobgoblins and so on. Somewhere in 2006 they migrated to EVE Online with only one purpose: wreck the game.
Goonswarm quickly started gaining support and, eventually, became Goonswarm Federation. By the time of 2009, Band Of Brothers (BoB), the most powerful alliance at the time, perceived the Federation as a threat, thus beginning the Great Wars.
There were two Wars in total. During the first one, BoB and GSF both fought ferociously to kill each other, but the First War ended in a bloody stalemate.
By the time of the Second War, GSF had gained the upper hand in the conflict, and more and more corporations broke off to join the Federation, including alliances such as the Northern Coalition. When the end of the Great Wars drew near, the Chairman of BoB himself disbanded the alliance, stating the following: "I like their system better".
After these events, the remnants of the BoB were waging a losing war with the titanic forces of the GSF. They suffered an utter defeat, and Band of Brothers bit the dust.
Nowadays, Goonswarm and other influential alliances have forged themselves into one, fearless organization: Clusterf*ck Coalition (AKA CFC).

So, I have my own reasons to dislike the Goons. They originate from the lowest scum of the Internet, and most of them still act like that. They have a special talent of making you dislike the game.
Example: I was out mining in nullsec when this Goon comes in a Sabre and blows up my ship. "No neutrals on Goonswarm turf", he said. Strange thing was that we were 48 jumps away from the GSF's borders. Second of all, they have absolutely no moral principles and no sense of reason. A friend of mine lost his Rhea to a Goonswarm suicide gank. "Why would they gank you? Your hold was empty", I asked.
I heard about more and more disturbing events about the Goons, and I have come to the conclusion that they are people that you do not want to waste your time talking with.

There is no reason for me (or anyone) to champion causes I have no stake in. Why would I care if someone said "really nasty things" to ANYONE (minorities, postmen, landscapers, the guy who cleans the gutters on your roof)?

Again, dont care. Its a game. About blowing up spaceships. As far as I can tell, space ships dont have sexuality, and the only races in the game have no affect on the gameplay.

Anyways, let's not forget the reason why we're here and try not to derail off the topic.
Summary: Goonswarm is a collection of trolling, homophobic and racist scum this game has ever seen. While the last two listed are not illegal, they are morally wrong and the consequences could be tragic.
Goonswarm is also creating a hostile new-player environment, which has scared off quite a few Trialees. Let us not forget the Burn Jita Burn events where those thrice-damned Goons ganked en masse every ship in Jita, which is in 0.9 SECURITY SPACE. No place is safe from these cut-throat marauders..

Moral of the game: Do NOT trust a Goon, do not interact with a Goon, and do NOT join any CFC / Goonswarm Federation-affiliated corporation if you want the game to remain beautiful.

Because there is no difference between expressing an idea and a direct threat against dozens of lives.
